All eyes on Rochester, Brownsville as four teams vie for final two M2 playoff berths
All eyes in Major Arena Soccer League 2 will be on Rochester, and Brownsville as the league's final two playoff spots will be decided in head-to-head battles this weekend in upstate New York and deep in the heart of Texas.
The Amarillo Bombers and Wichita Wings have both already qualified for the semi-finals which will be held Friday, March 30 at Mesquite Arena in Texas, home of the Major Arena Soccer League Outlaws. However, both of their games potentially impact playoff seedings for the four teams that ultimately qualify.
In Rochester, the Lancers need to win both weekend games against the Raptors in regulation time to guarantee they advance. The Raptors punch their ticket with one regulation win, as both teams enter the showdown with 20 points each. If either of both games go to overtime, a variety of tiebreakers will come into play.
The scenario for the RGV Barracudas is much easier to understand when they host the Chihuahua Savage II. RGV needs to win both games against the Savage this weekend in regulation time to qualify, while the Savage need only one point in the two games to advance.
