El Paso's Pedro Cajtaneda and Wichita's Jose Ocampo named Players of Month
El Paso's Pedro Cajtaneda and Wichita's Jose Ocampo have been named Players of the Month for February.
Cajtaneda is a forward for the Rhinos Unio Seis, who might prove to be a tough matchup in the upcoming Major Arena Soccer League 2 playoffs. El Paso played just three games in February, but scored 42 goals. Recent performances by Cajtaneda -- the Offensive Player of the Month -- have included a pair of four-point games including a hat trick against the New Mexico Runners, and a four-point game against the Runners with two goals and two assists.
Ocanpo is the Defensive Player of the Moth in goal for the Midwest Division leading Wichita Wings. He won both his games in February, with a saves percentage of .796 and goals against average of 4.14 versus New Mexico and Kansas. He is second in the league this year in wins, saves percentage and third in goals against average.
Honorees are selected by league officials in consoltation with select team representatives in MASL 2.
