Frenetic, fast, physical -- MASL 2 teams put on a show in Iowa, Muskegon and OKC

TAMPA, Florida -- Maybe the Major Arena Soccer League motto ought to be "Indoor Soccer the Way it Used to Be."
In three turn-back-the-clock games, fans in Muskegon, Des Moines and Oklahoma city were treated to showdowns reminiscent of the sport in its heyday -- fast, frenetic, physical, back-flippin', end-to-end-give-up-one-to-score-two indoor soccer that was so prevalent in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
None was more dramatic than in Des Moines, where the St. Louis Ambush 2 stopped the Iowa Demon Hawks 21-game winning streak (regular season and playoffs), by scoring 15 seconds into overtime for a 9-8 win.
And in Muskegon, the Risers trailed the Minnesota Blizzard 6-2 in the third quarter, but thrilled another large crowd at Trinity Health Arena by rallying for an 11-9 triumph, with the winning goal coming with just over a minute to play.
Wichita was the second road team to win on Saturday as well, taking a hard-fought 9-6 win against the Certified Lions as Caique Trivelato had four goals to take over the MASL 2 lead in that category.
