MAJOR ARENA SOCCER LEAGUE EXPANSION

Colorado Springs, CO (November 2, 2019) – Since the MASL awarded the Arena Soccer Group, LLC (ASG) with the management contract for Major Arena Soccer League 2 (M2), the countdown is officially underway for the next M2 season. Expansion and league growth has been the focus of ASG as they look to officially release the league schedule and complete list of member teams this upcoming week.

The Major Arena Soccer League board completed negotiations with ASG to help continue to build, facilitate and grow the quality of arena soccer the MASL has started. 

ASG is a management group based out of Colorado Springs that stepped in to relieve the workload of the MASL and have done just that. 

Already 5 new markets began expansion talks with ASG in the last 9 days alone. Of those 5 teams the M2 has 1 approved and is making the official announcement next week, while a second franchise will begin its preparation for the 2020-2021 season by announcing its M2 membership in late November. 

ASG believes they are holding the blueprint for arena soccer expansion and is eager to prove themselves in 2020.

"We've been able to hit the ground running with contacts who have already owned and operated professional soccer teams around the country", said ASG Director of Expansion, Blake Shumaker. "The interest level with experienced outdoor soccer and arena football owners is very high right now. Its an exciting time of growth for indoor soccer fans." 

The current M2 consists of 8 teams spanning from Chihuahua, Mexico to Muskegon, Michigan. Returning teams include the Colorado Inferno (Colorado Springs), Colorado Rumble (Denver), New Mexico Runners, and Muskegon Risers. New teams added to the roster include the Austin Power, Wichita Wings, Falls Town Flyers, and Chihuahua Savage.

The official start for the M2 season is slated to kick off December 1^st, 2019. The schedule is due soon to be publicly released as the new management group works to complete the transitions necessary to ensure a successful season.
