Week Seven: Big crowd expected to welcome Spice City in home debut in Danbury

TAMPA, Florida -- Get ready Connecticut, things are about to get mighty spicy.

Spice City FC will make its home debut at the 3,000 seat Danbury Arena Sunday afternoon. League officials said a crowd of over 1,500 is expected for the first ever MASL 2 game in Danbury. The team has the same ownership group as the Newtown Pride, who captured the imagination of soccer fans across the country when they won the first-ever  $1 million winner-take-all  TST in Cary, North Carolina. Newtown used many MASL star players to take home the top spot, helping pave the way for Spice City's debut. They will host the Baltimore Arsenal in a 3 p.m. kickoff Jan. 12.

Four other games will look to warm up fans across the country, including home openers for the Turlock Cal Express and Chihuahua Savage 2. Wisconsin is also back home, as are the New Mexico Runners in Albuquerque.
